UAWD (Unite All Workers for Democracy) is a national movement of UAW members dedicated to putting our union on a class-struggle footing. Our fight is with the bosses and the billionaire class, an ongoing effort we take collectively through bottom-up organizing on the shop floor and in our communities, to win the collective liberation of the working class around the world. UAWD 2325 is our Local’s chapter. Our members hail from across shops and job titles, but are united fighting for democracy, militancy, political independence, and class struggle unionism in our local, as well as building a broader movement for liberation with workers across the UAW and the world. All members of UAWD 2325 must be members of UAW Local 2325 and either UAWD members or supporters. UAWD 2325 members are able to participate fully and vote at Chapter meetings and in the Chapter group chat.
Chapter members will hold each other accountable to carrying out our Chapter purpose. We will expect each other to attend Chapter meetings regularly, recruit new UAWD supporters from our shops, and participate in campaigns and projects. We will make chapter decisions democratically after open debate. Once we make a collective decision as a Chapter, we will not organize against Chapter resolutions, campaigns, or endorsed candidates outside of Chapter spaces.
Chapter members commit to shop floor organizing. We commit to consistently working on political education through building relationships with individual members on the shop floor to elevate our coworkers’ militancy and class-consciousness. Elevating shop floor militancy is a precondition to making UAWD’s aspirations a reality.
All decisions by the Chapter, for example to launch petitions, support or launch campaigns, or endorse resolutions or candidates, will be made at Chapter meetings. Time-sensitive tactical decisions may also be made in the Chapter group chat.
Three Chapter Coordinators will be elected to six month terms at Chapter meetings in January and July. Special elections will be held at Chapter meetings to fill any vacancies. Chapter Coordinators are responsible for administering the Chapter, including facilitating meetings, at the direction of the membership.
The UAWD 2325 Chapter Charter and Rules may be amended by a two-thirds vote of UAWD 2325 members and with approval of the UAWD Steering Committee.
